About the Team: Barings Portfolio Finance provides customised, highly structured financing solutions to private asset managers. The Loan Asset Management team plays a critical role throughout the transaction lifecycle, partnering with investment professionals, borrowers, lenders and third-party stakeholders to ensure facilities are onboarded, administered and monitored effectively.
Role Summary: The Associate / Senior Associate will support the management of complex financing facilities throughout their lifecycle, from transaction closing and onboarding through ongoing servicing, monitoring and offboarding. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities while building effective relationships with borrowers, investment teams, lenders and external service providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the onboarding and ongoing administration of complex portfolio finance facilities, ensuring activities are completed accurately and in accordance with transaction documentation.
- Monitor facility performance, borrower reporting and compliance with key transaction terms and covenants.
- Partner with borrowers, lenders, investment professionals and third-party service providers to facilitate transaction activity and resolve operational matters.
- Support cash management, reconciliations, trade calculations and waterfalls, reporting and other loan servicing activities across the portfolio.
- Review and interpret financing documentation to support transaction execution, lifecycle management and problem resolution.
- Identify and escalate risks, exceptions and operational issues while contributing to a strong control environment.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, scalability and operational effectiveness.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Relevant experience within private credit, loan servicing, investment operations, fund finance, structured finance or a related financial services environment.
- Understanding of loan lifecycle events, cash movements, reconciliations and portfolio monitoring activities.
- Experience interpreting lending and financing documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
