You will lead a cross-disciplinary team in developing and overseeing safe, compliant, on-time, and on-budget solutions that meet quality, environmental and governance standards.\\n\\nKey responsibilities:\\n\\nOversee multiple projects through full lifecycle delivery—from scoping and design through construction, handover and post-handover management.\\nAssure CDM compliance and promote a zero-harm culture through audits, peer reviews and checks.\\nDevelop and empower a high-performing team of project engineers, planners, cost managers and coordinators.\\nManage programme-level delivery, cost forecasts, risk and change, maintaining alignment with Integrated Project Leaders.\\nDrive constructability reviews and solution development with a focus on TOTEX, Risk/Opportunity/Value, and win-win outcomes.\\nEnsure robust Delivery Execution Plans (DEPs) are in place and accepted by stakeholders.\\nFoster collaborative working with Alliance teams, clients, and supply chain partners to deliver integrated outcomes.\\nTranslate client governance requirements and support IPLs at governance boards as required.You’ll bring:\\n\\nYou are a credible and experienced Project Design Manager with strong leadership, technical and delivery skills. You will ideally have:\\n\\nA degree in engineering (or equivalent experience), with proven experience in water or wastewater project delivery.\\nSound knowledge of CDM and health & safety regulations, ideally with an IOSH qualification.\\nAPMP qualification or equivalent and experience working within a commercial or Design & Build environment.\\nStrong stakeholder management, team development and communication skills.\\nExperience managing multi-disciplinary teams and multiple simultaneous projects.\\nThe ability to operate strategically and resiliently, delivering outcomes under tight deadlines.\\nA collaborative mindset with the ability to drive cost-effective, sustainable and inclusive solutions.Depending on your skills, experience, and interests, you could be aligned to one of our four business units:\\n\\nPlace-Based Thinking\\nThe Place-Based Thinking team delivers some of the largest and most complex projects across the @one Alliance. Made up of six Senior Project Manager teams, we oversee 19 catchments, covering key sites such as Whitlingham, Flag Fen, Great Billing, Cotton Valley, Bedford, Colchester, and Ipswich Cliff Quays.

These projects involve managing all parts of the network from rising and gravity mains, pumping stations, high spilling overflows, and water recycling centres.\\n\\nWater\\nThe Water Business Unit provides strategic support across the clean water network, covering both system performance and infrastructure planning. We assess the future hydraulic state of the network in response to population growth and increased demand, support the design and delivery of capital and infrastructure schemes to ensure hydraulic resilience, and work with optimisation teams to enhance overall network efficiency.\\n\\nWater Recycling (East and West)\\nOur Water Recycling Business Unit, split into East and West regions, is responsible for the collection, conveyance, and treatment of wastewater across an extensive network.
