Acting as the point of contact for hiring managers, employees and other HR team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Senior HRBP in the delivery of the regular HR service, advising and coaching where appropriate, to ensure that a consistent and efficient customer experience is delivered.
  • Champion and support continuous improvement in HR service delivery, seeking opportunities to review, streamline and automate processes to increase efficiency and customer experience.
  • Advise employees on entitlements (e.g., maternity, discretionary leave) and the associated application processes.
  • Support the wider HR Team in implementing and embedding strategies and initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and reports and provide reports as required.
  • Be the first point of contact for managers on all matters relating to ER issues, including absence, performance, capability, disciplinary and grievance and provide practical advice and guidance.
  • Delegate absence, performance and probationary matters to the HR Officer and provide support.
  • Support with investigations, including preparing minutes and the investigation report as and when required.
  • Coach and advise managers on best practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Support the Senior HRBP with employment relation matters as and when required.
  • Responsible for the timely resolution of all ER matters and escalating difficulties to the Senior HRBP.
  • Visit the Peterborough and St. Albans office one day per month and meet with managers and/or employees, to include sites across the regions, should the need arise.
  • Provide support at disciplinary and grievance meetings as and when requested, either in person or via Teams.
  • Provide information for the Board Report to illustrate people trends.
  • Ensuring best practice in HR operations.
  • Participation in HR audits as and when required.
  • Attend monthly Eastern Management meeting and present information.

Essential:

  • Minimum CIPD Level 5.
  • Demonstrable HR generalist experience of working within a similar role.
  • Updated knowledge of employment law and reform plans.
  • Excellent understanding of HR policies, processes and best practices.
  • Supportable experience of HR systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Driving Licence.
