Key Responsibilities

  • Understand all relevant risk and method statements
  • Use best/safe practice on all tasks carried out
  • Conduct checks on equipment that may be used
  • Install drainage, lay concrete, kerbs, and pavements, and carry out excavation and groundworks, digging trenches, loading and unloading materials
  • Ensure a safe, tidy place of work
  • Implement best practice procedures
  • Maximise use of own working time
  • Ensure signed up for all permits and briefings before commencing any work
  • Communicate with the site supervisor on any concerns
  • Provide feedback to site management with near-miss reporting
  • Attend all site briefings, forums, and toolbox talks
  • Deputise for conducting briefings and toolbox talks

Essential:

  • Experience in general civil work (earthwork, drainage, ducting, kerbing, and concreting)
  • CSCS card
  • Either CPCS forward tipping dumper/ slinger signaller/ride on roller/360 excavator/telehandler

Desirable:

  • SSSTS/SMSTS
  • Day environmental awareness
  • NRSWA
