The Role
To carry out tasks set by site supervisors and gangers to a high level of safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand all relevant risk and method statements
- Use best/safe practice on all tasks carried out
- Checks are conducted on equipment that may be used
- Installing drainage, laying concrete, kerbs, and pavements, and carrying out excavation and groundworks, digging trenches, loading and unloading materials
- Ensure a safe, tidy place of work
- Implement best practice procedures
- Maximise use of own working time
- Ensure signed up for all permits and briefings before commencing any work
- Communicate with the site supervisor on any concerns
- Feedback to site management with near-miss reporting
- Ensure you attend all site briefings, forums, and toolbox talks
- Deputise for conducting briefings and toolbox talks
Essential
- Experience in general civil work (earthwork, drainage, ducting, kerbing, and concreting)
- CSCS card
- Either CPCS forward tipping dumper/ slinger signaller/ride on roller/360 excavator/telehandler
Desireable
- SSSTS/SMSTS
- ½ day environmental awareness
- NRSWA
