The Role

To carry out tasks set by site supervisors and gangers to a high level of safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand all relevant risk and method statements.
  • Use best/safe practice on all tasks carried out.
  • Checks are conducted on equipment that may be used.
  • Installing drainage, laying concrete, kerbs, and pavements, and carrying out excavation and groundworks, digging trenches, loading and unloading materials.
  • Ensure a safe, tidy place of work.
  • Implement best practice procedures.
  • Maximise use of own working time.
  • Ensure signed up for all permits and briefings before commencing any work.
  • Communicate with the site supervisor on any concerns.
  • Feedback to site management with near‑miss reporting.
  • Ensure to attend all site briefings, forums, and toolbox talks.
  • Deputise for conducting briefings and toolbox talks.

About you

Essential

  • Experience in general civil works (earthworks, drainage, ducting, kerbing, and concreting).
  • CSCS card.
  • Either CPCS forward tipping dumper/ slinger signaller/ride on roller/360 excavator/telehandler.

Desirable

  • SSSTS/SMSTS.
  • ½ day environmental awareness.
  • NRSWA.
