The Role
To carry out tasks set by site supervisors and gangers to a high level of safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand all relevant risk and method statements.
- Use best/safe practice on all tasks carried out.
- Checks are conducted on equipment that may be used.
- Installing drainage, laying concrete, kerbs, and pavements, and carrying out excavation and groundworks, digging trenches, loading and unloading materials.
- Ensure a safe, tidy place of work.
- Implement best practice procedures.
- Maximise use of own working time.
- Ensure signed up for all permits and briefings before commencing any work.
- Communicate with the site supervisor on any concerns.
- Feedback to site management with near‑miss reporting.
- Ensure to attend all site briefings, forums, and toolbox talks.
- Deputise for conducting briefings and toolbox talks.
About you
Essential
- Experience in general civil works (earthworks, drainage, ducting, kerbing, and concreting).
- CSCS card.
- Either CPCS forward tipping dumper/ slinger signaller/ride on roller/360 excavator/telehandler.
Desirable
- SSSTS/SMSTS.
- ½ day environmental awareness.
- NRSWA.
