Barfoots West Sussex, United Kingdom is hiring Production Operatives to join busy production teams across Chichester and Pagham sites. The role involves joining a proactive team and assisting with all steps in the production process. The role is suitable for candidates with experience in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities for Skilled Operators and Technical/Machine Operators.
Responsibilities
- Operation and monitoring of production line machinery
- Packaging
- Machine changeovers
- Recording accurate production records
- Short interval control
- Supervise line operators and agency staff where applicable
Role detail
Skilled Operators
- Set up, operate and adjust machinery to required specifications and perform basic pre-planned maintenance as required
- Operate and maintain a minimum of two complex production machines, including (but not limited to) Strauss, bagging lines, flow wrappers, lidding, Mic Vac and automation lines, achieving required UPM targets
- Supervise line operators and agency staff
Technical/Machine Operators
- Set up, operate and adjust machinery to required specifications and perform basic pre-planned maintenance as required
- Operate and maintain a minimum of two complex production machines, including (but not limited to) Strauss, bagging lines, flow wrappers, lidding, Mic Vac and automation lines, achieving required UPM targets
- Supervise line operators and agency staff
Requirements
- Previous/Similar Factory/Manufacturing Experience
- Basic level of English
- Good communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Able to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills
- A "can do" and flexible attitude
- A strong team player with a positive mindset
Working pattern
Day Shifts: 4 days on, 4 days off. Full-time, permanent positions.
