We are looking for reliable and enthusiastic Production Operators to join our teams in Chichester and Pagham. We welcome applicants with different levels of experience, from people beginning a career in food production to experienced operators who can set up machinery, run complex production lines and support other team members.

Working environment: This is an active role within a busy fresh-food manufacturing facility. Production areas are temperature controlled and are normally maintained at approximately 3°C-5°C. The role involves standing for extended periods, some manual handling and, depending on experience, working with automated production and packaging equipment. Appropriate clothing, equipment and training will be provided.

Requirements & What you'll be doing: As part of our Production team, you will help us produce safe, high-quality products while meeting daily production targets. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Preparing fresh produce for production and packing
  • Sorting and grading products against agreed quality standards
  • Packing, sealing and labelling finished products
  • Carrying out visual quality checks and reporting concerns promptly
  • Monitoring line performance, output and product quality
  • Carrying out routine equipment checks and minor adjustments
  • Maintaining excellent standards of food safety, hygiene and housekeeping
  • Following company health and safety procedures and reporting risks

Experienced operators may also be responsible for:

  • Running two or more complex production or packaging machines
  • Carrying out basic planned maintenance activities
  • Overseeing the safe and efficient operation of a production line
  • Supporting and guiding production operatives and agency colleagues
  • Ensuring production records are complete, timely and accurate
  • Using production information to identify problems and improve performance

For all applicants, we are looking for:

  • A positive attitude and dependable approach to work
  • A strong work ethic and commitment to completing each shift
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Close attention to detail
  • The ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • A willingness to follow food-safety, hygiene and health-and-safety procedures
  • The ability to undertake manual handling and remain standing for extended periods

Previous food-production or manufacturing experience is helpful but is not essential for entry-level appointments, as full training will be provided.
