A fantastic opportunity for an experienced, Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our busy production and site engineering department. To enable us to continue meeting high industry demands and in order to maintain and exceed the highest levels of quality and customer service expected, we are keen to hear from suitably skilled and experienced engineering professionals who may be interested in joining our team.
The engineering team at Barfoots are pivotal to our success. Working closely with production to ensure minimum downtime and ensuring that the production plant, services and facilities are all maintained and improved by way of pre-planned and reactive maintenance. With either a mechanical or electrical bias, candidates will have proven experience working in a similar environment, attending to machinery breakdowns, fault diagnosis and establishing root cause analysis in a busy, dynamic processing or FMCG environment.
With strong communication and team working skills, candidates will work collaboratively within the engineering team, providing support and investigating means of improving plant productivity and efficiency. Also working to identify and participate in continuous improvement projects to help increase plant efficiency, energy and costs. This is a day shift based role, 4 days on 4 days off.
RequirementsKey Responsibilities:
- General mechanical/electrical engineering and routine maintenance tasks
- Attend to and rectify factory machinery breakdowns, utilising best practice for both health & safety and hygiene
- Fault diagnosis and root cause analysis
- Ensure maximum equipment uptime and availability
- Follow and improve upon month on month PPM schedules
- Be involved in both electrical and mechanical reactive and pro-active maintenance
- Maintain accurate records for all activity and spares used/requested
- Ensure equipment is maintained to a high standard
- Relevant engineering qualifications and/or industry experience in either mechanical or multiskilled engineering
- Minimum 3-5 years relevant industry experience - (Preferred)
- Capable of quickly identifying and efficiently resolving mechanical and/or electrical faults
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and use own initiative
- Troubleshooting electrical control panels - an advantage
- Capable of working on inverters, PLC system
- Carry out effective RCAs
- Develop effective PPMs
- Experience of working within a FMCG / Fresh food manufacturing
