Every day, our Production teams play a vital role in ensuring our products are prepared, packed and delivered to the highest standards.
We are looking for reliable and enthusiastic Production Operators to join our teams in Chichester and Pagham. We welcome applicants with different levels of experience, from people beginning a career in food production to experienced operators who can set up machinery, run complex production lines and support other team members.
Working environment: This is an active role within a busy fresh-food manufacturing facility. Production areas are temperature controlled and are normally maintained at approximately 3°C–5°C. The role involves standing for extended periods, some manual handling and, depending on experience, working with automated production and packaging equipment. Appropriate clothing, equipment and training will be provided.
Requirements: What you’ll be doing. As part of our Production team, you will help us produce safe, high-quality products while meeting daily production targets. Your responsibilities may include:
- Preparing fresh produce for production and packing
- Sorting and grading products against agreed quality standards
- Packing, sealing and labelling finished products
- Carrying out visual quality checks and reporting concerns promptly
- Monitoring line performance, output and product quality
- Carrying out routine equipment checks and minor adjustments
- Maintaining excellent standards of food safety, hygiene and housekeeping
- Following company health and safety procedures and reporting risks
Experienced operators may also be responsible for:
- Running two or more complex production or packaging machines
- Carrying out basic planned maintenance activities
- Overseeing the safe and efficient operation of a production line
- Supporting and guiding production operatives and agency colleagues
- Ensuring production records are complete, timely and accurate
- Using production information to identify problems and improve performance
