Hygiene Operative

We are seeking a Hygiene Operative to ensure high standards of cleanliness across our production machinery, plant, and facilities. The role involves high and low-level cleaning of walls, floors, fittings, drains, and other equipment, working across all production areas to maintain strict hygiene standards at all times.
Please note: This position involves working in a temperature-controlled environment (3 to 5ºC), periods of long standing, and occasional heavy lifting.
Current vacancies are on day shifts, following a 4 on, 4 off, 12-hour shift pattern.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Deep cleaning of production areas and equipment
- Maintaining accurate cleaning records
- Ensuring a safe working environment
- Keeping hygiene tools clean, fit for purpose, and properly stored
- Storing cleaning chemicals correctly
- Reporting hygiene or food safety concerns
- Adhering to COSHH regulations, health, safety, and company policies
- Supporting the hygiene team as needed
- Focusing on continuous improvement
Required Skills & Experience:
- Experience in cleaning and hygiene work
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- Understanding of the fresh food sector (desirable)
- CIEH Food Safety Level 2 (desirable)
