About the Role

The Cultural Heritage Field Representative will perform duties to protect cultural heritage on sites throughout the region. This includes participating in site surveys and assessments, identification of cultural heritage, and ensuring that any cultural heritage is documented and project partners are notified so that it can be protected.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with cultural heritage surveys, field assessments, and excavation activities
  • Participate in fieldwork, including site inspections and test pit digging
  • Provide observations and feedback to the Cultural Heritage Manager
  • Represent Barengi Gadjin Land Council (BGLC) in a respectful and culturally appropriate way
  • Ensure vehicles are kept clean and well-maintained when in use

Key Selection Criteria

  • Construction Induction (White) Card
  • Physical clearance to undertake fieldwork (completed by a GP)
  • Ability to complete necessary training: First Aid & CPR, 4WD Safety and Recovery
  • Unrestricted driver’s licence
  • Good level of physical fitness and ability to walk long distances in remote areas
  • Flexibility with working hours, including early starts and changing schedules
  • Strong cultural awareness and respect for Country
