About the role
Pay Rate – £13.71ph
Location – Weston-super-Mare
Shift Timings – Days only – 06:00 to 18:00, 4 on 4 off shift pattern
You will be working in a site-based role within the public sector, where officers are responsible for ensuring the safety and security of both staff and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Provide a professional, friendly, and supportive security service.
- Manage staffing, rota planning, and team integration.
- Support training, development, and performance management of staff.
- Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, and company standards.
- Maintain accurate records and staff communication.
- Support cash handling processes in line with procedures.
- Deliver services in line with SLAs, policies, and risk assessments.
- Promote a positive team culture and staff engagement.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new team members.
Qualifications
- Valid frontline SIA licence.
- Valid First Aid qualification.
- Good IT skills.
- Strong management and leadership abilities.
- Knowledge of SIA licensing requirements.
- Confident working in a Govt environment.
- 5-year checkable work/career history.
- Able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, including those with mental health conditions.
- Strong communication skills at all levels, including de-escalation in challenging situations.
- Knowledge of public safety, security procedures, and relevant legislation (or willingness to learn).
- Ability to work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team.
- Maintain confidentiality of all staff, and visitor information.
- Understanding standard procedures, including manual handling, infection control, and health & safety.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
- Ability to lead or support projects and day-to-day team activities.
