About the role

  • Pay Rate – £15.91
  • Location – Bridgwater, Frome, Exeter, Taunton, South Bristol
  • Shift Timings – Full time, must be fully flexible and able to work weekends
  • All travel paid for, Public Transport and/or Car mileage

You will be working in a well-known retail store, which holds various stock. Officers are responsible for providing safety and security to both staff and visitors alike.

Your main responsibilities may include:

  • Observe, deter and arrest those taking part in criminal activity in line with Theft Act.
  • Follow ASCONE process.
  • Work with SOC CCTV operators to identify and stop offenders.
  • Liaison with the police forces and other crime prevention partners, in the areas you will be operating, will be key to keeping up to date with crime trends in the area.
  • Build local network to identify and disrupt crime.
  • Report incidents accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Occasionally attend court to provide evidence.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following:

  • Highly adaptable as no two days at our client's regional stores are the same.
  • Remain calm under pressure and react quickly in challenging situations.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role with a strong customer service background.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), preferably with a GCSE or equivalent in English.
  • Proactive and forward-thinking approach to work, demonstrating adaptability and a desire to improve on existing working practices.
  • Strongly self-motivated individual possessing a can-do attitude and a drive to learn.
  • A positive, outgoing personality looking to be part of a strong and established team.
  • Essential to be SIA licensed; store detective experience is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional observational skills; ability to handle sensitive situations and to make quick decisions.
  • Confidence to challenge people when necessary.
