You will bring your skills and knowledge to the Practice, having at least 12 months GP Practice experience. Your role will be to support the Practice Manager and wider teams in Practice functionality on a day to day basis including general office duties. This vacancy is for 12 hours per week across 3 days [Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 08:00 - 12:00].

Main duties of the job:

  • You will ensure that patients receive a high quality, professional service and contribute to the daily office routine by helping to cover administrative and reception duties.
  • You will provide our patient population with a high quality, professional service and assist the public in accessing other service providers.

The Birches Medical Centre is a long established, forward thinking and dynamic GP Practice. The Practice currently serves around 4,000 Patients and is located on Polefield Road, Prestwich and close to Heaton Park. The Practice has a strong and dedicated team who work closely together to provide the best in quality healthcare. In addition and from our central hub in Bury, we operate across a wide geographical location which encompasses Bolton, Heywood, Middleton, Rochdale, Bury and North Manchester. The service has developed a reputation for innovation and has evolved into a Community Benefit Society which works in partnership with patients and a range of other service providers to deliver high quality patient focused care to the heart of its local communities.

Job responsibilities:

The role will mainly involve administration, reception and general office duties. You will be 30 hours per week across 5 days [Monday to Friday].

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications: Educated to GCSE level or equivalent. Computer literate. Minute taking.
  • Experience: At least 12 months experience of working in a GP practice. Experience of general office procedures e.g. manual and computerised record and filing systems, photocopying and emails. Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and EMIS. Experience of working in an office environment.
