Role Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Credit Control Officer to join our busy and growing Finance team to manage the credit control function for the company.
Responsibilities
- Proactively manage the company’s credit control policy, ensuring customers adhere to agreed credit terms.
- Send invoices and statements to customers.
- Run routine checks via Credit Safe regarding customer credit ratings before approving credit requests.
- Establish terms of credit for customers and ensure invoices are paid on time.
- Renegotiate customer payment terms.
- Reconcile and maintain the debtor’s ledger across several companies in the business.
- Liaise with customers and respond to queries.
- Liaise between company departments.
- Prepare aged debt reports for management when required.
- Manage the small claims process for the business, including preparing and submitting claim files.
Qualifications
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Self‑motivated with a positive attitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including verbal, written and active listening.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and IT skills.
- Excellent knowledge of the small claims process.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Previous experience of Sage 200 Accounts is preferable.
