We are seeking a motivated and experienced HIAB DRIVER CLASS 2 HGV to join our dynamic transportation team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) equipped with a HIAB crane, delivering containers efficiently and securely to various locations. Your expertise in commercial driving and delivery operations will ensure timely service while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Duties

  • Safely operate a Class 2 HGV vehicle fitted with a HIAB crane for loading and unloading cargo
  • Deliver goods to designated sites, ensuring accurate and timely deliveries in accordance with schedules
  • Securely load and unload flatbed or other specified cargo using the HIAB crane, adhering to safety protocols
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance issues promptly
  • Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including logs, delivery notes, and inspection reports
  • Follow all traffic laws and company policies to ensure safe driving practices at all times
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve issues promptly

Qualifications

  • Valid Class 2 HGV driving license with a clean driving record
  • Proven experience as a commercial driver, specifically with delivery operations involving flatbed loads
  • Demonstrated proficiency in operating a HIAB crane safely and efficiently
  • Delivery driver experience with excellent route planning skills
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to commercial driving and crane operation
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as loading/unloading cargo and lifting heavy items when necessary
  • Strong communication skills and a professional attitude
