The client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead the way in technical report writing and engineering documentation while contributing to meaningful hands-on projects. You’ll focus on modifications to heavy mechanical systems, such as wheelsets, bogies, couplers, and brakes, with approximately 20% of your time spent on the shop floor. While rail industry experience isn’t essential, a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and proven expertise in producing detailed, readable technical documentation is crucial.
The role is based at either Three Bridges or Hornsey (from home 2-3 days per week) and offers a competitive salary of £60,000. You’ll also benefit from up to 10% pension contributions, Bupa healthcare, a bonus of 5%-10%. Working hours have flexibility designed to help balance personal commitments, including childcare, while working Monday to Friday. You must also have a current RTW in the UK.
