I’m currently working with a well-respected UK asset manager that’s going through an exciting period of change and growth. With over £100bn in assets under management, the firm offers a broad range of investment solutions across both the affluent and high-net-worth markets. As part of their commitment to enhancing risk oversight, they’re looking to hire an Investment Risk Analyst into their London team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a solid grounding in investment or market risk who’s keen to take on a hands-on role, with strong exposure to portfolio managers and involvement in shaping the risk framework going forward.

What the role involves:

• Supporting the development and day-to-day running of the firm’s investment risk systems and reporting tools.
• Taking ownership of improvements to the reporting process – from idea through to delivery.
• Analysing portfolio and market risk data to help inform PMs and senior stakeholders on fund-level risk.
• Monitoring internal risk limits and ensuring appropriate escalation and resolution where needed.
• Producing clear, insightful reporting for risk committees, internal forums, and regulators.
• Working with the broader team to build out quantitative tools to support investment and risk decision-making.

What they’re looking for:

• Experience in a risk role within asset management or financial services, with exposure to portfolio risk, market risk, or similar.
• Familiarity with tools like FactSet is a plus.
• Knowledge of risk concepts such as VaR, stress testing, scenario analysis, liquidity risk, and factor models.
• Strong technical skills – ideally Excel VBA and experience working with large datasets. SQL would be useful but isn’t essential.
• Strong communication skills – comfortable presenting ideas and data in a clear and structured way.
• A collaborative approach and a natural inclination to improve systems and processes.
