Reporting directly to the Head of Compliance, this is a senior leadership role with responsibility for overseeing both Compliance Advisory and Compliance Monitoring activities across a broad consumer finance business. The successful candidate will act as a key deputy to the Head of Compliance, providing leadership across the function, managing a small team and representing Compliance at senior governance forums. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a small team across compliance monitoring and advisory activities.
- Own and enhance the compliance monitoring framework, including risk‑based monitoring plans and assurance reviews.
- Provide pragmatic and commercially focused regulatory advice to the business.
- Support the interpretation and implementation of regulatory change.
- Present findings, regulatory developments and compliance insights to senior governance committees.
- Deputise for the Head of Compliance when required.

Candidate Requirements
- Significant experience within a regulated financial services environment.
- Strong background in both Compliance Monitoring and Compliance Advisory.

- Strong understanding of FCA regulation, consumer finance and conduct risk frameworks.
- Previous people management and leadership experience.
- Ability to engage credibly with senior stakeholders and executive audiences.
- Commercially minded approach to compliance, with the ability to balance regulatory requirements and business objectives.
- Experience within retail banking, consumer lending, motor finance or wider consumer credit environments would be advantageous.
