Data Protection Specialist – 3 Month Contract

Help shape the GDPR future of a leading financial services firm and leave a lasting legacy in just three months. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who knows data protection inside out and loves turning policy into something practical, usable, and understood across a business. You’ll be the driving force behind building out a refreshed GDPR framework, making sure it’s not only compliant but also embedded in day-to-day operations.
Working hybrid with a London office two days a week, you’ll collaborate closely with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Tech, and other key teams – making sure everyone feels confident and accountable when it comes to data protection.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead the refresh and rollout of GDPR policies, governance documents, and procedures
- Rebuild ROPA, DPIAs, privacy notices, and breach processes into something the business can own
- Run an initial scoping review and map out a realistic execution plan
- Bring stakeholders with you – using empathy, clarity, and a solutions-first mindset
- Set up the business to confidently maintain and evolve the framework after you’ve delivered
What you’ll bring:
- Deep GDPR and data protection experience, ideally in financial services
- The confidence to deliver independently and engage with senior stakeholders
- A business-oriented approach. You know when to focus on outcomes over legal theory
- Strong documentation and communication skills
