The Trade / Export Compliance Manager will be responsible for all programmes associated to the site being the focal point of contract for all Trade / Export compliance requirements relating to UK export control and US ITAR/EAR regulations. Role – Trade Compliance Manager / Export Compliance Manager Location – Chelmsford (hybrid working) Type – Permanent Salary – Competitive (DOE) + benefits Key responsibilities of the Trade Compliance Manager / Export Compliance Manager role will include not be limited to: Drive continuous improvement and implementation of Trade Compliance (TC) program elements, policies, procedures and automated tools based on regulatory and corporate requirements. Ensure proper TC controls are identified, embedded and consistently executed. Support the team with all elements of the compliance program including transactional reviews, application and management of local export authorisations, denied party screening, jurisdiction and classification, transactional due diligence, technology transfers, facility controls and record keeping management. Provide consistent guidance and frequent communication on trade compliance matters, including regular regulatory updates to raise awareness on trade compliance. Conduct and support internal assessments, investigations, and completion of corrective actions for the site. Identify training needs and conduct training sessions, as well as self-development and development of the team. Continuously seek improvements and efficiencies without compromising the compliance level, utilising root cause evaluation and lessons learned. Key skills and experience required for Commercial Contracts Manager and not limited to: Proven track record in a similar capacity for a high tech/defence environment with experience in licensing. In-depth knowledge of UK & US Export Laws and Regulations. Experience with managing teams and fully partnering with the business at all levels. Demonstrated ability with solving complex problems using collaborative techniques. Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation). Previous program/project management experience highly desired. Strong Computer Skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
