Global engineering business requires a Production Planner. Applicants need production planning or manufacturing scheduling experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment and have experience in the use of MRP, ERP or MS Excel.

The Production Planner will join a successful and high performing production planning team, reporting to a Production Planning Manager. The Production Planner will take a lead role in scheduling shop floor manufacturing activities in alignment with production plans and the master schedule, to meet customer orders.

Specific duties of the Production Planner include:

  • Creating production plans and production works orders in MRP
  • Interdepartmental liaison with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality etc. and highlight risks to production schedule
  • Monitor progress of production plans and material availability
  • Create and update lead times around specific manufacturing processes
  • Maintenance of data and material availability dates in MRP

Production Planner applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Production Planning, Production Control, Production Coordination or Master Scheduling experience
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering business
  • Experience with MRP/ERP tools, or planning experience in MS Excel
  • Knowledge of LEAN techniques and methodologies - Kanban, JIT etc.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and positive demeanor
  • Happy to work in a site-based role
