In this key role, you\’ll provide high-quality financial and management accounting services, partnering with senior stakeholders and directorates to ensure accurate reporting, sound decision-making, and continuous improvement across the organisation. Key Responsibilities: Deliver timely and effective management accounting services and reports Partner with internal directorates to support financial decision-making Provide professional financial advice and identify areas for improvement Support and enhance finance processes, systems, and compliance Produce monthly management accounts, monitoring reports and statutory returns Assist with year-end processes and external audits Train and guide stakeholders on financial procedures and systems Work closely with senior stakeholders and external partners Required Skills, Qualifications and Attributes: Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant (CIPFA, CIMA, ACA, ACCA) Excellent communication, analysis and stakeholder engagement skills Working knowledge of public sector finance, regulations, and governance Benefits: 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme Flexi-Time Scheme – accrue up to 18 additional days leave per year Hybrid working model This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile, meaningful projects with long-lasting regional impact.
