A global leading defence business are currently recruiting for a Commercial Manager based in the Buckinghamshire area on a fulltime permanent (hybrid working).
Role – Commercial Manager / Commercial Manager – Defence
Type – Permanent
Location – Buckinghamshire (hybrid working)
Salary – Competitive (DOE) + bonus + benefits
Key roles and responsibilities for Commercial Manager and will not be limited to:
- Responsible for leading and providing commercial input for major tenders, preparing quotations, leading negotiations, preparation contractual agreements and managing contracts through to completion. The role will involve providing commercial and legal input to all areas of the business thus ensuring that all commercial issues are effectively managed and completed.
- Engage in all business capture efforts including providing assistance and guidance during proposal management and development, as well as ensuring that the commercial and contractual aspects of proposals are reviewed, drafted, and submitted appropriately;
- Identify key areas in contract terms that would represent a significant risk to the Company and advise senior management of the best course of action;
- Lead negotiations with customers and partners on acceptable terms and conditions during bid/award and project execution phases;
- Advise the Supply Chain Team on appropriate flow-down of contract conditions to sub-contractors/suppliers;
- Preparing and negotiating all commercial agreements, including non-disclosure agreements and other ad-hoc agreements as required;
- Become the “go to” point of reference for all commercial or legal queries raised in the business;
- Play a leading role in cross functional project teams. Provide advice and action to support the delivery of programmes in a compliant and cost effective manner;
- Manage the relationship and communication between the customer and business for a range of UK and international customers;
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and export controls;
- Manage intellectual property ensuring appropriate controls, protection and licensing;
Key skills and experience required for Commercial Manager job applicant and will not be limited to:
- Experience in managing commercial risk, ideally working in a Commercial Management role
- Broad business awareness enabling an appropriate contribution at a senior level
- Proven relevant experience gained in a commercial discipline in a high tech industry, ideally within the aerospace, defence or other similar technology/technical sectors
- Knowledge of the contract development process, contract terms and conditions is a prerequisite for this role
- Eligibility to gain UK SC clearance
