Successful market-leader requires an Indirect Buyer. Applicants should have experience of tendering, negotiating and ideally indirect/services procurement, or a willingness to manage these spend areas. The Buyer - Indirect will join a procurement team of Buyers and Senior Buyers with responsibility for managing the tender process, cradle-to-grave. This is very much a generalist indirect procurement role with services such as facilities, vending, stationary, office furniture, PPE, uniforms, fleet, transport and capex/machinery falling within scope. The organisation is on an exciting growth trajectory and the Buyer - Indirect will be able to play a significant role in supporting management and optimizing procurement efficiencies, to keep pace with the business change.
Specific duties of the Buyer - Indirect include:
- Supply market intelligence activities across indirect spend areas
- Stakeholder liaison across facilities, logistics, HR etc. to understand requirements from the supply chain
- Ownership of the tendering process for indirect spend areas, cradle-to-grave including contract award
- Supplier relationship management - collaborate closely with key suppliers; KPIs, reviews, collaboration etc
- Spot negotiation activity
- Identify and seek to mitigate supply chain risk
- Support Procurement Management in the development of broader sourcing and category strategies
Buyer - Indirect applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Experience across indirect spend categories such as facilities, vending, stationary, office furniture, PPE, uniforms, fleet, transport and capex/machinery or an interest/willingness to manage these areas
- Ability to run the tender process cradle-to-grave
- Demonstrable experience in supplier negotiations
- Ability to manage reports and trackers
- A collaborative, pro-active self-starter
