Barchester Healthcare is looking for an outstanding Operational Trainer to co-ordinate and deliver training against company objectives and training statistics. This role is paramount to delivering an excellent quality of care for our patients and residents and to maintain the safety of our workforce.
As Operational Trainer you will act as a DLP Champion for homes and hospitals in your region, promote e-learning, keep up to date with new developments and assist staff to access and complete their e-learning. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will ensure the homes and hospitals are meeting all induction and refresher, statutory and mandatory training standards, including:
- Safeguarding (including MCA/DoLs)
- Care Certificate completion
- Customer Care
- Equality & Diversity
- LGBT+
- Fire Drills
- Manual Handling or Moving Handling Static Loads
- Practical & Basic Life Support / CPR (including choking)
- Hospital Specific Training - Risk Management, Safety Interventions, PBS, Clinical Risk / Safe & Therapeutic Obs.
To ensure the delivery of the training required, you must hold a Diploma Level 3 in Health & Social Care or above OR experience of working in a social care setting. You will be required to plan and publish training calendars to meet regional training needs so you must be able to work under your own initiative and communicate effectively.
Your excellent organisation skills will enable you to record staff completion of training on the L&D learning management information system and maintain records as required to meet regulatory standards. You must have a working knowledge of legislative requirements within the care industry. You must also monitor completion of training against required targets and observe workplace practice to ensure that each care home/ hospital is delivering a good quality of care.
You will motivate and engage with those around you. Your positive attitude, a willingness to learn and improve will enable you to continually review the programmes you deliver and maintain your own competence in the delivery of set courses.
This role will involve regular travel and occasional overnight stays in the UK, so a full driving licence is essential.
