About the role
As a Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, you'll make sure we have a clean and well‑maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can do their jobs well. Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere is part of our commitment to delivering first‑class care and support. You can expect plenty of variety as a Head of Maintenance. You'll handle a range of tasks across the care home building, gardens, and grounds. This may involve fixing a leaky tap or planting new bulbs. You should be comfortable working independently, leading a team, and supporting the General Manager with annual budget planning. You'll also liaise with contractors on projects outside the expertise of our team.
About you
The wellbeing of our residents is your number one priority. You will ensure all work is carried out with sensitivity to their needs. With hands‑on experience in property maintenance, you have at least one trade skill and a proven ability to manage a wide range of maintenance tasks. You should be reliable, flexible with working hours, hold a full UK driving licence, possess IT literacy, and have GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent).
