About the Role
As a Data Engineer, you will maintain and enhance the organisation's data infrastructure, ensuring reliable, timely data is available for reporting and analysis. You will work with data warehouses, ETL pipelines, and reporting tools such as Tableau and SSRS to transform data into structured, accessible formats. You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements, deliver solutions, and support decision-making across the business. The role also involves managing data integrations, maintaining data quality, and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance data warehouse structures and performance
- Design and implement ETL processes and scalable data models
- Optimise databases through query tuning and indexing
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications
- Develop, maintain, and improve Tableau dashboards and SSRS reports
- Ensure reports are accurate, user-friendly, and well-documented
- Monitor data quality, resolve issues, and maintain data integrity
- Manage and prioritise ad-hoc reporting requests effectively
- Develop reusable reporting components and support self-service tools
- Manage secure import/export of data, including validation, automation, and compliance
About You
You're an analytical and detail-oriented data professional with strong technical expertise and the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders. You can manage multiple priorities, work independently, and consistently deliver high-quality, reliable data solutions.
Essential Experience
- Experience working with non-technical stakeholders to deliver data and reporting solutions
- Background in a Data Engineering or Data Analyst role
- Strong understanding of database design and data modelling
- Strong SQL skills, including transactional SQL
- Experience with SSRS, Tableau, and SQL Server Analysis Services
- Knowledge of enterprise reporting and deployment practices
- Experience using cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP) desirable
