ABOUT THE ROLE
You will be a Peripatetic Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, traveling across your region to ensure a clean and well‑maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can perform their duties. Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere is part of our commitment to delivering first‑class care and support. You can expect plenty of variety. You will handle a range of tasks within the care home building, its gardens, and grounds: fixing a leaky tap one minute and planting new bulbs the next. You should be comfortable working alone, leading a team, and supporting the General Manager with annual budget planning. You will also liaise with contractors on jobs that fall outside the expertise of your team.
ABOUT YOU
The wellbeing of our residents is your number one priority. You will carry out all work with sensitivity to their needs. You should have hands‑on experience of property maintenance, at least one trade skill, and a proven ability to undertake a wide range of maintenance tasks. You must be reliable and flexible with your working hours, hold a full UK driving licence, have IT literacy, and possess GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent).
