You can expect plenty of variety as a Head of Maintenance with us. You'll turn your hand to all sorts of tasks within the care home building as well as in the gardens and grounds. That could mean fixing a leaky tap one minute or managing an issue with industrial cooking equipment or heating the next. You should be comfortable working alone, leading a team and supporting the General Manager with annual budget planning. We'll also need you to liaise with contractors on jobs that fall outside the expertise of your team.

The wellbeing of our residents will be your number one priority as a Head of Maintenance at Barchester; you'll make sure all work is carried out with sensitivity to their needs. With hands-on experience of property maintenance, you'll have at least one trade skill and, ideally, a proven ability to undertake a wide range of maintenance tasks in a commercial property environment. You should be reliable and flexible when it comes to your working hours. This role also calls for a full UK driving licence, clean criminal record (role is subject to DBS), IT literacy and GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent).

In return for your dedication, you'll receive a competitive rate of pay plus our sector-leading benefits and rewards package including:

  • Free training and development for all roles
  • Access to wellbeing and support tools
  • A range of retail discounts and savings
  • Unlimited referrals with our Refer a Friend bonus scheme
