What will the role look like? The SHAP programme will support young people aged 18‑25 to bridge gaps in provision for those who typically ‘fall through the net’ due to the complexity of their needs. Young people are often excluded from existing provision and struggle to navigate pathways to address their wider support needs. Through SHAP, BARCA Navigators will strive to enhance engagement with young people, taking a no‑wrong‑door approach and continuing support despite periods of crisis and disengagement. The SHAP offer will aim to improve mental health, support substance‑use issues, prevent rough sleeping, reduce offending and antisocial behaviour, and address long‑term housing needs in Leeds.
