What will the role look like? Work with young people aged 8‑19 years, delivering a range of interventions including group work, detached and outreach support to promote engagement and participation. The post holder must be available on evenings between 4 pm and 8:30 pm to support the current youth work timetable. The role involves planning and delivering groups, activities, and tailored packages of individual support. It requires strong organisation, creativity, behaviour management skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with young people.
Hours and salary: fixed‑term part‑time, 7.5–25.5 hours per week, £27,000–£29,050 pro‑rata.
What we are looking for? Applicants must hold at least a Level 3 qualification in Youth Work and have over 12 months of youth work experience. The post holder will report to the identified CYP lead regarding day‑to‑day duties and overall performance, and will work closely with other team members.
Additional requirements:
- Availability on evenings (4 pm–8:30 pm).
- Strong organisational and creative skills.
- Experience managing challenging behaviour.
- Ability to build positive relationships with young people.
Other information: Barca‑Leeds requires disclosure and barring checks appropriate to the role before appointment is confirmed. Disclosure of a criminal conviction will not necessarily exclude candidates. Right to work in the UK is required; we cannot accept Skilled Worker Visa holders.
