The post holder is responsible to the CYP Senior Practitioner in relation to the performance of their day-to-day duties and for overall individual performance. The post holder will work closely with other members of the team. The Youth Work Team is part of Barca's Children and Young People’s Service.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking to appoint a Youth Engagement Worker to join our Children and Young People’s Service. Applicants will need to have experience in youth work delivery and demonstrate the confidence and ability to engage positively with groups of young people. The role will involve planning and delivering group work sessions in a variety of settings within local communities.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver group work sessions in a variety of settings within local communities.
  • Support lead workers with the planning and delivery of groups, activities and tailored packages of support.
  • Build positive relationships and engage confidently with groups of young people.
  • Be available on evenings between 4 PM and 9 PM to support the current youth work timetable.
  • Work closely with other members of the team.

Requirements

  • Youth work experience (required).
  • Experience in youth work delivery and ability to engage positively with groups of young people.
  • Availability to work 2–3 evenings a week, typically between 4 PM and 9 PM.
  • Ability to organise, be creative and build positive relationships with young people.
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom; we are not able to accept applications from individuals requiring a Skilled Worker Visa.

Hours & Salary

8 hours per week. Salary £25,878 – £27,000 pro-rated.
