What will the role look like?

The purpose of this role is to provide short term work using a 4-session model of supportive intervention. This will include working in a person-centred way with the young person, their primary carers and other education and support professionals within Cluster.

What we are looking for?

Working in a holistic way, you will aid the identification and awareness of the key challenges and negative affects of the young person's potential neurodivergence and co-create a personalised strengths-based support plan including additional community support resources. You will monitor and support their progress accounting for additional barriers that may prevent them getting the most from the intervention. You will liaise with carers and professionals to ensure that recommendations and resources within the personalised support plan are understood, adopted and supported by all involved in the care of the young person. You will work alongside carers and professionals within the boundaries of your remit and competency to work through barriers to them supporting the young person whilst they are engaged within the duration of sessions. The successful individual will use their experience and skills as a trained young person’s therapeutic counsellor to provide this support within the BACP ethical framework.

This is a fixed term contract role until 31/03/2027.

The salary shown for this role is the full time equivalent and will be pro-rated to working hours. There 2 x 28 hours per week posts and 2 x 21 hours per week posts, working across schools within JESS (Belle Isle) , Beeston, Cottingley & Middleton and Headingly and Kirkstall Clusters
