Infopro Digital, the B2B group specialising in information and technology, is currently looking for a Research Director on a permanent contract to strengthen the team at its Barbour ABI business. Barbour ABI powers the UK built environment with the best intelligence to help our clients grow. Best known for our construction project leads, our portfolio includes analytics, market research reports and bespoke consultancy. As Head of Consultancy, you will lead our consulting practice, driving strategic growth and ensuring client satisfaction. You will be responsible for developing and executing our service offerings, managing key client relationships, and building a high-performing team. This role requires a strong leader who can identify market opportunities, translate client needs into effective solutions, and consistently deliver results that impact our clients' bottom line. Beyond that, you will bring a genuine passion for the built environment, as this unique position allows you to directly influence the sustainable and innovative development of this vital sector.
Reporting Structure: Reporting into the Sales Director
Direct Reports: 2 Consultancy Research Managers
Location: Hybrid / Flexible (Head Office near Chester)
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivery of Consultancy targets (monthly and annually)
- Drive consultancy sales through building a pipeline of prospects and proposals through working closely with sales, account management, marketing and repeat clients
- Develop strategic relationships & contacts (major clients, Trade Associations / Federations / PR, etc)
- Ensure we deliver work to a high standard through engagement with commissioned clients, account management of major clients and strategic partners
- Evolve and future proof the consultancy offering through new product, service development and other relevant factors
- Be seen as the expert and voice of the built environment consultancy arena, internally and externally, through attending, networking and presenting at conferences, exhibitions and client meetings
- Develop and manage a high performing team – people development, engagement, retention and recruitment
Requirements:
- Experience working in a Market Research agency and/or Consultancy
- People skills – able to inspire and lead staff in a positive and inclusive way
- Expertise in research techniques both quantitative and qualitative
- Experience of market research project management including resource planning, report writing, client management experience
- Experience in trends analysis and market forecasting
- Working knowledge of MR IT platforms and resources eg FAME, Qualtrics, MS suite especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel including Pivot tables and Graphs, etc
- Confident with social media and marketing/PR techniques
- Built Environment / Construction sector experience in a market research context preferable
