Each year, the Centre presents hundreds of different performances, events and exhibitions that entertain and inspire millions of people, create connections, provoke debate, and reflect the world we live in.

As the Barbican approaches its 50th anniversary, the Centre is now at a pivotal moment in its history. With a new CEO taking up post from January 2026, £191m secured for the first phase of a major capital transformation, a refreshed audience-centric approach in development and a reshaping of our artistic vision announced in 2025, the Centre is putting in place the foundations for the next 50 years.

To help drive this forward at pace, the CEO support team is expanding, and we are recruiting for a CEO Office Assistant to join on a full-time, permanent basis.
