Qualified Accountant - Manager - Barnsley

The Role

A fantastic opportunity exists for an ambitious, qualified ACA or ACCA accountant to join a leading independent firm of accountants based in Barnsley.

The firm has a newly created role for the position of Qualified Accountant - Manager. The successful individual will have the drive and ambition to match that of the business. The individual must be client-facing and have the ability to run their own portfolio, along with helping support and manage staff and assist in the operational aspects of running the office.

The firm prides itself on setting exceptional client service standards along with the delivery of innovative accounting and business advisory solutions. The position of Qualified Accountant - Manager will form part of the firm's Management team and support a varied client base, along with providing mentoring and training for a number of part-qualified staff members.

Duties and Responsibilities

Supporting the Partnership team and a varied portfolio, duties will include:

  • Managed a highly varied portfolio of clients
  • Preparation of Statutory and Management Accounts
  • Preparation of business plans and financial forecasting
  • Preparation of Management Information
  • Training and advice on accounting software
  • Accounting system implementation
  • Provide commercial business support
  • Review of work produced by accounting staff
  • Monitor work schedules, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Provide training support to junior team members

Skills and Qualities

The business is looking for an individual who demonstrates ambition and drive and wishes to become part of a highly successful team, that will support and encourage development and learning.

The successful candidate will possess the following skills:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified with 6 years + experience
  • Good statutory accounting and management accounting experience
  • IT capabilities and knowledge of Xero and cloud accounting are essential
  • Confident in managing your own clients
  • Experience in managing and supervising staff members
  • A willingness to continue learning and developing

Remuneration

  • Salary £55,000 - £60,000
