We’re recruiting on behalf of a London‑based bank for a hands‑on Trade Services Officer. This is a UK‑based role — applicants must already be in the UK with UK banking experience.
If you’re confident with documentary checking, Letters of Credit, and enjoy a role where you can roll your sleeves up and get stuck into the operational detail, this could be a great fit.
What you’ll be doing:
- Documentary checking (1st & 2nd check) for LC documents
- LC lifecycle — opening, amendments, confirmations, guarantees & bonds
- Bills for Collection — inward & outward
- Processing forfaiting, risk participations, and syndicated loans
- Inputting entries, liquidations and SWIFT messages
- Liaising with issuing banks, group trade services and clients
- Completing AML/KYC/sanctions checks on individual transactions
- Clearing nostro items and reconciling the LC register
What we’re looking for:
- Already based in the UK
- UK banking experience is essential
- Minimum 3 years’ hands‑on trade finance experience
- Strong experience in documentary checking + LCs
- Knowledge of UCP600, ISBP745, URC522, URDG758
- Experience with SWIFT
- High accuracy, attention to detail and ability to work in a small, busy team
- CDCS is a bonus
