Leading the bar team, you are responsible for ensuring the delivery of a high class bar operation. You will lead our 6 bars in the venue, helping to serve welcome drinks and cocktails for party bookings, and draught beers or soft drinks for those taking a break in their CUBE journey. Managing and mentoring a team of approximately 20 bar staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Orchestrating and leading a top quality bar service.
  • Supervising multiple bar teams on shift, ensuring staff follow direction.
  • Rotating staff as required during shifts according to customer flow.
  • Organising shifts and rotas for staff.
  • Liaising with the Payroll manager for any updates or queries.
  • Dealing with staff and operation issues locally, or escalating to the correct department lead as required.
  • Dealing with escalated complaints and customer issues.
  • Monitoring and ordering stock, always ensuring sufficient levels and checking deliveries are correct.
  • Liaising with suppliers for deals, promotions and new products.
  • Managing HR or performance-based issues, including 121s and disciplinaries.
  • Managing budgets, margins and P&L.
  • Working with other managers for large bookings or venue updates.
  • Delegating tasks and responsibilities to supervisors and team leaders.
  • Assisting with Bar service as required by customer levels.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure all training is promptly completed and documented.
  • Review hygiene audits and mystery shopper reports.
  • Contribute to and suggest ways of improving company processes.
  • Design and implement new procedures as directed by senior team, including seasonal menu changes.
  • Onboarding and training of newer members of the team.
  • Fire Marshall and First Aid responsibilities.

Skills

  • 10 years of Bar experience.
  • Experience leading large teams including back-office responsibilities.
  • High volume bar operation experience.
  • Experience leading bar operations in venues with multiple bars.
  • Recruiting, building and training teams of bar staff.
  • Implementing processes to improve service and operations.
  • Cocktail making and premium drink mixing.
  • Accurate free-pouring ability.
  • Personal License.
