We are currently seeking a talented Control Systems Engineer to join our team for a 12 month fixed term contract and contribute to our groundbreaking projects.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a small, dynamic team of engineers to develop advanced control systems and full vessel control systems for hybridisation, electrification and foiling flight control in the marine industry.
- Utilize Matlab Simulink as the primary tool for designing, modelling, and simulating control systems.
- Specify and select appropriate systems, sensors, and actuators for integration into control systems.
- Develop, test, and optimise control algorithms for efficient and precise vessel performance.
- Conduct system analysis, modelling, and simulation to ensure control system functionality and performance meet project requirements.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, to ensure seamless integration of control systems into overall vessel designs.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise during the implementation and testing phases of control systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Matlab Simulink for control system design, modelling, and simulation.
- Solid understanding of C programming language for implementation of control algorithms.
- Experience in specifying and integrating systems, sensors, and actuators into control systems.
- Knowledge of marine industry, powertrain electrification, and foiling system control is a plus.
- Familiarity with system analysis, modelling, and simulation techniques.
- Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, collaborative team environment.
- Strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to cross‑functional team members.
