As a Carer at The Gracewood Centre, you will play a vital role in supporting residents to live well every day. This casual position offers flexibility while still providing consistent, ongoing shifts. Every shift is an opportunity to bring comfort, dignity and joy to the residents who call our community home, creating meaningful moments through care delivered with purpose and heart. We’re seeking Casual Carers who can commit to regular weekly shifts (2–3 per week) and who have strong weekday AM and PM availability. Your reliability and presence during these key times help us continue building a place where compassion truly thrives.
Key responsibilities:- Build genuine, trusting relationships with residents.
- Provide personal care including showering, grooming, meals and mobility support.
- Support residents in meaningful activities that promote joy, purpose and social engagement.
- Encourage independence, choice and dignity.
- Communicate changes or concerns to ensure care plans remain accurate.
- Contribute to a safe, person‑centred and supportive environment.
You will thrive in this role if you bring:
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care) or equivalent, or are working toward completion.
- Experience in residential aged care or a similar care environment.
- Competence in personal care tasks and manual handling.
- A strong commitment to person‑centred care and resident dignity.
- Warm communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships.
- Reliable weekday AM and PM availability.
- Ability to work independently and within a supportive team.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and care plans.
- A positive, respectful and empathetic approach.
