We are looking for passionate, enthusiastic, and motivated Care workers for this unique role! As a Permanent Part-time Care Worker supporting our Transitional Care clients on the Central Coast and surrounds, you will be an essential part of our BaptistCare At Home team. Your role is vital as you provide short-term, specialised care and support to help our clients regain their functional independence at home, after a hospital stay. Your dedication and expertise in this area will make a significant difference in our clients' lives, helping them to recover and thrive in the comfort of their own homes.

Your day may include:

  • Work with the client’s care team to support their recovery
  • Provide in‑home care to help clients maintain independence
  • Domestic assistance with cleaning, tidying and laundry
  • Support personal care needs such as showering, hygiene, dressing, and continence
  • Provide medication assistance as required
  • Prepare meals and help with food‑related tasks
  • Transport clients to appointments or activities
  • Build genuine, supportive relationships with clients

To support you from your very first day, we provide:

  • Earn $34.59/hr (qualified) plus superannuation per hour + paid travel time* and mileage between clients.

*To help ease some of the pressure from rising fuel costs, employees who claim Vehicle/Travel (per km) reimbursement will receive a temporary increase of 5 cents per kilometre for all reimbursable journeys until May 2026, pending review.

Essential competencies include:

  • Cert III in Individual Support or equivalent qualification
  • Unrestricted Australian Driver Licence and a reliable vehicle with Third Party Property Damage Insurance
  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or be willing to obtain
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certificate or be willing to obtain
  • Willingness to travel within the Central Coast to client's homes
  • Strong communication, patience and compassion
  • Proficiency with smartphone technology, apps and email.

This specific position requires you to have had the following vaccinations and/or specific evidence will need to be provided:

  • Adult Diptheria, Tetanus, Pertussis (whooping cough) - adult dose of pertussis containing vaccine (dTpa) in the previous 10 years
  • Hepatitis B - age-appropriate course of Hepatitis B vaccine and Anti HB's serology, or evidence of past infection
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) - 2 doses MMR vaccine at least 1 month apart OR positive serology for measles, mumps and rubella OR birth date before 1966
  • Varicella (Chickenpox) - age-appropriate course of vaccination or positive serology
  • Tuberculosis - evidence options *TB screening (TST or IGRA) is required in specific instances, such as if the person was born in a country with high incidence of TB
