We are looking for an experienced Integration Architect to design and govern enterprise-wide integration solutions across multiple platforms and systems. This role requires strong architectural thinking, the ability to define integration strategies, and experience working in regulated environments where data privacy, security, and compliance are critical. The ideal candidate will operate beyond implementation, focusing on architecture design, governance, and stakeholder engagement across complex enterprise landscapes.
Key Responsibilities- Design and own enterprise integration architecture across multiple systems (CRM, ERP, cloud, legacy, external partners)
- Define integration patterns including API-led, event-driven, messaging, and batch processing
- Establish system boundaries, orchestration models, and data flow architecture (ingress/egress)
- Lead integration discovery and map end-to-end data flows across systems
- Define and implement enterprise API strategy and standards (OpenAPI, versioning, lifecycle)
- Drive API reuse, consolidation, and standardisation across the organisation
- Govern API design, security policies, and lifecycle management
- Prevent API sprawl and ensure consistency across teams
- Design scalable event-driven architectures using messaging systems (Kafka, MQ, etc.)
- Define patterns for asynchronous communication, eventual consistency, and resilience
- Handle real-time vs batch integration strategies
- Design integration solutions aligned with GDPR and data protection regulations
- Implement privacy-by-design principles within integration architecture
- Define and enforce encryption (in transit and at rest)
- Ensure auditability, traceability, and data lineage across systems
- Define and govern data sharing contracts and policies
- Define API and messaging security models (OAuth2, JWT, mTLS, etc.)
- Address NFRs such as performance, scalability, availability, and low-latency processing
- Design for resilience, fault tolerance, and error handling in distributed systems
- Establish integration governance frameworks and best practices
- Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture standards
- Define guidelines for versioning, backward compatibility, and change management
- Drive consistency across multiple teams and platforms
- Work closely with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, and delivery teams
- Translate business requirements into scalable integration solutions
- Lead architectural discussions and provide clear, structured recommendations
- Mentor teams and guide developers towards best practices
- Deep understanding of integration patterns (sync/async, pub-sub, orchestration, choreography)
- API strategy and API-led architecture
- Event-driven architecture and messaging systems
- Experience handling complex, distributed integration landscapes
- Hands-on experience with GDPR and data protection principles in system design
- Strong understanding of data governance and lineage
- Privacy and security controls in integrations
- Experience with one or more: MuleSoft, Kafka, IBM Integration Bus, Oracle SOA, API gateways and management platforms
- Experience designing for high throughput and low latency systems
- Understanding of performance tuning in distributed architectures
- Strong communication and articulation skills (client-facing)
- Structured thinking and problem-solving ability
- Ability to evaluate trade-offs and make architectural decisions
- Experience working in cross-functional, multi-stakeholder environments
- Experience in regulated industries (Banking, Insurance, Government)
- Experience leading integration discovery and transformation initiatives
- Exposure to enterprise data platforms and streaming architectures
