BAO Shoreditch is looking for an Assistant Manager to join the team and help deliver warm, joyful service every day. We seek someone who brings positive energy to the floor, supports their team with care, and takes pride in creating great guest experiences. This hands-on role is set in a fast-paced restaurant. It is ideal for someone ready to take the next step in their hospitality journey.

BAO Shoreditch sits in East London’s creative hub and takes cues from bustling Taiwanese beef noodle shops, reimagined with a playful London twist. Upstairs, guests enjoy rich bowls of beef noodle soup, signature BAOs, and a menu full of bold Taiwanese flavours. Downstairs, a bar and private KTV room offer a unique space for late-night drinks, group dining, and the occasional sing-along. The restaurant’s identity is energetic, characterful, and rooted in great food and service.

The Position

At BAO, we care about doing things properly—from greeting guests to supporting each other behind the scenes. As Assistant Manager, you will be a key part of the leadership team, working closely with the General Manager to ensure smooth daily operations, high service standards, and a happy, motivated front-of-house team.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support the management team by running daily service, keeping things flowing with energy and care.
  • Lead sections and support the FOH team during busy shifts.
  • Help train new team members and give regular feedback and encouragement.
  • Assist with floor plans, guest bookings, and team rotas.
  • Ensure every guest has a brilliant experience.
  • Act as a supportive and reliable leader on the floor.

  • Confidence running a section and helping lead a team.
