This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in core activities within a buy-side, technology-focused corporate development team or private equity firm. The selected candidate will be an integral part of the Banyan M&A team, working directly with Associates, Directors, and VPs in a dynamic, collaborative environment. The role includes exposure to new industries, business models, valuation techniques, and research methods, with opportunities in due diligence and M&A transaction processes. The candidate will have responsibilities and measurable impact on the organization. The developmental goals include understanding the private company acquisition process and analyzing software businesses for valuation purposes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the evaluation and acquisition of vertical market software companies by assisting in operational, financial, and market due diligence (approx. 25%)
  • Participate in special data-focused projects (approx. 10%)
  • Analyze and present financial and non-financial information for new acquisition opportunities using Banyan’s KPIs and investment criteria
  • Review confidential information on potential acquisitions and prepare investment summaries for management and board review
  • Participate in due diligence by analyzing operational aspects and performing complex financial and operational modeling
  • Research attractive software models and industries aligned with Banyan’s criteria
  • Collaborate with a global, high-energy M&A team
Qualifications for Success:
  • 2-3 years of relevant professional experience (banking, consulting, advisory, accounting)
  • Professional designation in progress or near completion (ACCA, CA, CFA)
  • Strong academic record in undergraduate studies
  • Motivated with a keen interest in private equity, tech entrepreneurship, and finance
  • Experience in financial modeling, data analysis, and understanding financial statements
  • Curiosity about business operations, passion for technology, research persistence, and independent thinking
  • Collaborative mindset, willing to challenge and improve processes
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
