Banner is the largest schoolwear supplier in the U.K. and we are incredibly passionate about making every student look and feel great by producing sustainable, affordable, and desirable schoolwear of the highest quality whilst supporting retailers with the best industry-leading service.

The Embroidery Machinist is a key role in Supply Chain Production. You will work with the team at our Embroidery department working on multi-head sewing machines to ensure school badges are embroidered onto items of clothing as per our customer requirements.

Daily Tasks:

  • While the machine is in operation, actively plan and prepare upcoming duties to ensure smooth transitions between orders.
  • Frame and position the product exactly as per customer specifications.
  • Take full responsibility for positioning on the product, keeping the design neat and tidy, avoiding any jump-stitches or gaps, and ensuring colours match the design sheet.
  • Oversee maintenance of the machine and schedule the plan fairly with other operators of the same station.
  • Report any disruptions to the Team Leader and Management before turning off the head.
  • Ensure mistakes are only created by machine issues, preventing user errors such as forgotten badge rotation or pulling threads.
  • Support packers by removing backings and packing when the machine is running, especially during long stitch counts, urgent orders, or backlogs.
  • During cross-over between shifts, pass on all information about current orders, advise on next tasks, review machine operation during the shift, and clean up if needed.
  • Place boxes on pallets and avoid leaving parcels on the floor.
  • Report any shortages of threads, carton boxes, bags, or any other embroidery/packing tools.
  • Ensure high quality of the design and product, consistently keeping the embellishment neat and tidy.
  • Stay clear and focused on all Health and Safety regulations and adhere to them fully.

Working Hours: We are looking to fill our night shift, which is a 40-hour per week contract, starting on Sunday at 9.30pm until 6am Friday.

Location: You will work at our Trowbridge site where free parking is available and there are good transport connections.
