Associate Sales/Supply Service Representative (SSR) – IMCD UK Ltd.

Hours: 37.5 (Mon-Fri). Salary: Competitive.

The SSR role is a customer service-based position that acts as the first point of contact for customers and suppliers, building strong relationships and delivering excellent service both internally and externally. SSRs support either the sales side or the purchasing side of the business (sometimes both).

Responsibilities
  • Sale-side – First point of contact for customers regarding order placement; receive customer orders primarily by email/phone and enter them into the ERP system; handle price queries and delivery delays; develop and maintain relationships with customers and colleagues; communicate effectively by email and phone with internal and external customers/colleagues; align with IMCD goals and values; handle and resolve customer complaints (damaged or delayed deliveries); manage workload efficiently and keep the ERP system up to date; contribute to efficient and supportive team working.
  • Purchasing-side – Place supplier purchase orders in the ERP system; place orders based on customer/supplier requirements, stock levels, and product stock levels; handle price queries and delivery delays; maintain stock levels according to stock policies; develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and colleagues; communicate effectively by email and phone with internal and external suppliers/colleagues; follow Best Practice in relation to IMCD goals and values; coordinate with third-party warehouses and hauliers to resolve PO queries (damages/delays); resolve purchase-related complaints and record areas for improvement; manage workload efficiently and keep the ERP system up to date; contribute to efficient and supportive team working.
Ideal Candidate
  • Excellent communication skills – essential for building relationships with customers and suppliers and for drafting professional emails; good listening to orders and instructions.
  • Resilient and able to multi-task and work under pressure; able to adapt to varying and challenging situations.
  • Solutions-focused – able to understand and assess situations quickly and implement improvements.
  • Can-do attitude and initiative; willing to support the wider team.
  • Team player who supports colleagues and works as part of a team.
  • Highly numerate – comfortable working with numbers, quotes, orders, reports, and spreadsheets; able to spot discrepancies.
  • IT skills – willingness to learn JDEdwards & Salesforce; proficient with Word and Excel; able to produce emails and letters.
  • Administration experience is useful but not essential.
  • GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English grade C or higher.
