We’re looking for a Senior Finance Assistant to join our Group Finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in accuracy, and wants to play a key role in supporting a busy, collaborative finance function within a construction and housebuilding environment. You’ll be at the heart of our day‑to‑day financial operations, helping to ensure everything runs smoothly, compliantly, and efficiently — while also supporting the wider team and contributing to continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting the day‑to‑day management of purchase, sales and subcontractor ledgers
- Overseeing CIS processes, including setting up subcontractors and ensuring compliance with requirements
- Preparing and supporting CIS returns, ensuring accuracy and timely submission
- Posting and processing house sale completion statements
- Managing invoice processing, coding, and payment run activity
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting month‑end processes
- Working closely with internal teams to resolve queries and keep information up to date
- Supporting and guiding colleagues within the finance team where needed
- Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve ways of working
Qualifications and experience
- Experience working in a finance or accounting role, ideally within a construction or housebuilding environment
- Knowledge of CIS, including subcontractor processing and returns
- Experience working with purchase and/or sales ledgers
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in everything you do
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Good communication skills, with the confidence to work with stakeholders across the business

- Experience supporting or guiding others within a team
