We're looking for a

Finance Team Leader to join our Group Finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong finance operations background who enjoys leading people, improving processes and making a real impact on business performance.

About the role

You’ll lead our ledger function, overseeing purchase ledger, sales ledger and treasury activities while supporting and developing a team of Finance Assistants.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring financial processes run smoothly, accurately and efficiently, while helping to identify opportunities for continuous improvement across the function.

This is a varied position that combines people leadership with hands‑on financial operations, giving you the opportunity to influence both day‑to‑day performance and longer‑term improvements.

  • What you’ll be doing
  • Leading, supporting and developing the ledger team
  • Driving high standards of accuracy and financial control
  • Monitoring performance through KPIs and helping the team achieve its objectives
  • Overseeing purchase ledger, sales ledger and treasury processes
  • Supporting cashflow management and financial reporting
  • Building strong relationships with colleagues, suppliers and customers
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements that deliver greater efficiency and effectiveness across the finance function.
  • What we’re looking for

We’re interested in hearing from candidates who have

  • Experience within a purchase ledger, sales ledger or wider finance operations environment
  • Previous experience managing, supervising or supporting a team
  • Strong Excel and financial systems experience
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and process improvement
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment and manage competing priorities.

An AAT qualification, experience of Business Central and knowledge of the construction industry or CIS would be advantageous, but are not essential.
